video is choppy and freezes during playback and recording

Hello, I am having problems with Mix Emergency where my output is very choppy and freezes on the screens. I also notice that the video freezes when I am trying to record a mix. I recently upgraded to a newer Macbook Pro with a stronger processor, more HD space and more RAM and I am having more problems with ME on this computer than my older one. Ideas? Thanks, DJ Classic

What are the specs of your computer? What dimensions are you outputting to on the external screen? Are you playing the videos from your internal drive? And, do you see any file writing activity in Scratch Live during this? (you might see it down in the status line at the bottom of Scratch Live while this is occurring)

Also, are you playing High-Definition videos? And, where did you get them? Or have you encoded them yourself?

@Nick Im having the same problem while recording. I noticed that its an HD video thats starting the stalling ME 2.2 MBP 17inch 8gb ram 500gb harddrive and it has 200 gb left on space Im using and external drive 2tb firewire 800
