It shouldn't be doing this - it sounds very strange. You could try to reset all of MixEmergency's Preferences... by moving/deleing the file at: ~/Library/Preferences/com.inklen.MixEmergency.plist (where ~ is your user/home folder) If you can't find this folder, go to the Mac OS Finder, push Command-Shift-G, enter "~/Library/Preferences/", and push "Go".
