Dokumentary This is a noob question I guess. I'm having conflicting MIDI issues when using ME and SSL. I use 2 Technics with a Numark NS6 and a Denon DN-HC1000s. I recently spent some time mapping my APC40 to control ME. I saved my mapping and labelled my APC with neat stickers and felt so great about myself. Then I went to my Saturday gig and everything went nuts. I spent the first 20 mins un-asigning MIDI in ME. The Denon didn't seem to have any issues but the NS6 was changing parameters in ME that I had not assigned to it. I do have some extensive MIDI assignments set up for SSL with the NS6. The only thing assigned to ME on the NS6 is the crossfader. Is the solution as simple as, changing the MIDI channel for each device? Is that possible? Am I an idiot? I don't think I am, cuz I don't get by on my looks. Someone please help... Or tell me I'm a below average looking idiot. Also, none of my MIDI parameters were affected in SSL by the APC. Only the other way around (ME parameters affected by NS6)
Nick I'm don't have any Akai controllers - so I'm not certain... but, isn't there a controller editor that will allow you to change the channels that the controls are sent out over? And once you do this, then you'll need to re-map them to MixEmergency.
Dokumentary No, unfortunately there is no editor for the APC40 or for the Numark. They were both developed in conjunction with their respective programs to be 1-1 plug & play. I wonder if anyone on the forum has had this issue with these or any other controllers. I'm sure MidiPipe can help somehow but I really have a tough time with that program. Does anyone use Bome's MIDI translator? Would it help for my situation?
Nick Well, there is one thing you could do fairly easily, but this would mean that you can't use the crossfader of the NS6... In the MIDI window of MixEmergency, where you can select the Inputs, make sure the NS6 is unchecked.
djnyce unfortunately on the apc40 you cannot change the midi note #, cc# or midi channel. you could use something like midiox to manipulate the midi on the fly, but midi ox is windows only.
