plug-in question

i haven't even downloaded 1.4 yet but wondering a couple of things... how do we install the plug-ins? will the amount of plug-ins installed affect ME? more time to startup, load time, RAM performance, etc... would it be better to have less installed versus having every single one installed?

To install the plug-ins with MixEmergency 1.4 you can just double-click them and MixEmergency will copy them into the correct folder. Once you've installed new plug-ins you will need to restart MixEmergency. They should then appear in either your effects or transition lists. It's documented in the manual: http://www.inklen.com/mixemergency/manual/viewall/#plugins Generally, adding more plug-ins won't have a noticeable effect on the performace of MixEmergency or RAM that is used. The resource usage is different for every plug-in though - for example, the Gradient Map plug-in must load an image that it uses to store gradients (though it's a fairly small image), while plug-ins like the Swinging Doors plug-in uses nothing other than a negligible amount of RAM.

I should also mention that plug-ins are produced in such a way as to minimise and share resources - so the Gradient Map plug-in will only have one copy of the gradients image even when the plug-in is being used on all three (left, right, center) channel effect slots.
