No Audio when recording

So Im my TTM57, running OS X i7, Version 10.7.3, Serato 2.3.1 and ME 2.0.4. And I'm trying to record my video mix using ME, but I'm not getting audio. I tried to use the RCA cable but my problem is i don't see any ways to change/use my audio input as line in on the laptop, can somebody help please!?

Do you have one of the latest (2012) MacBook Pros? If so, unfortunately these no longer have a line-in audio input.

O lorrd, Yes nick I do, it's 2012 Apple Inc. So no other alternative of getting the audio from ME while recording?

Record your audio in Scratch live while recording your video set then attach the audio together using a video software editor.

Yeah, you could do that, or purchase a small USB audio interface to use.

Or if your mixer has an inbuilt soundcard use the settings on the output routing to the input routing on ME. Eg i've got a rane mp26 mixer which is fully midi enabled, and also has digital sound in/sound out over usb. If i want to record my mix i simply tell ME to record from the master out of the mixer (which i think is 9-10). Depending on what mixer you are using you could do the same.

For some reason my audio stops recording after about 1 hour and 15 mins. I thought I did something wrong so I recorded my audio/video mix again and it stopped at nearly the same point. The video part was great but the audio just stopped.

Hey Nick, I am trying to record my mix, i had success doing it one way which is when i go under record i check built in microphone, i am assuming this is using my computer mic but the sound isnt good. the other choice is built in in put, and when i record i get no sound after i record. What can i do to get the same sound quality as the video?

You need to connect your mixer to the audio input of your laptop (usually a cable with 2x RCA to 1/8" mini-jack). Some of the recent Macs don't allow this though, and if you have one of them you will need an external audio interface to record with (e.g. a 2 channel USB audio interface).

one last thing when im going through the prompts once i connect the 2x RCA to 1/8 mini jack, do i click built in mic, or built in input? and i under format do i click on wave, or apple lossles? on the back of my djm 800 mixer i have master 2 and record in the back booth with rca outputs, my master 2 is connected to my sound board (2nd mixer) can i connect to the record? Please advise.....again thank you!

use built in...that's the 1/8th input on a Macbook pro 15"...Mic taps the microphone you facetime with so you don't want that

as long as you can get sound out it's fine....built in Mic is the microphone on the mac for FaceTime or Skype etc...so use built in input...that's what i mean before you record,you'll see the level of sound,play something back and set the audio level where you want it
